Maximising Minimalism

In County Wicklow, this contemporary bungalow showcases minimalist sophistication, designed by Alena Chikurnikova of AlenaCDesign.

Built by homeowner Peter on a plot adjacent to his cousin’s home, the property was completed just before the pandemic. However, lockdown left it an empty shell for two years. Today, thanks to AlenaCDesign, the home has been transformed into a functional, timeless showpiece. The bungalow comprises a spacious lobby hall, a front sitting room with vaulted ceilings and large apex windows framing mountain views, a kitchen/dining area, a utility room, a main bathroom, a back living room, a master bedroom with an ensuite, and a guest bedroom. The design reflects Peter’s vision for a cohesive, practical, and minimalist forever home.
