Old meets new in a leafy Belfast neighbourhood, within the hallowed walls of an 1867 residence, this homeowner worked closely with maestro – award-winning designer Brian Parkes of Parkes Interiors to reshape the heart of her home. The result is beautiful.

This homeowner met Brian Parkes and his father many years ago when Parkes Interiors fitted another kitchen for her, making this project a nostalgic one. She begins, ‘I loved that kitchen they put in for me about 25 years ago, and I love this one!’ Her aspirations were clear: a fusion of classic charm and modern functions. The age of the house became the muse for the kitchen’s design, a blend of heritage and the contemporary Brian Parkes embraced the challenge, weaving the homeowner’s vision into a design that would transcend time.
