Welcome
The months seem to be flying by, especially as I wrap my head around the fact I will be working away on all things festive as you all leaf through the pages of this issue! I’m writing this on the day of the Autumn Equinox, so it’s officially autumn now and the daylight hours will be getting shorter and those dark nights longer! Yes, it’s time to hibernate at home and take comfort in cosy interiors, which include warm, autumnal colours, cosy blankets, wooden flooring and lit stoves! Luckily, we’ve lots of inspiration to get your home in tune with the season ahead and ensure you feel cocooned in style. Our readers’ homes also offer plenty to spark your imagination. From Rachel and Chris’ restored mill in Co. Down and Sarah’s period terrace in Dublin, both of which retain the character of the original build, to Cliona and Derek’s contemporary renovation to accommodate their family of seven and the welcoming luxury of a holiday home in the beautiful town of Kenmare in Co. Kerry. This month’s interior dilemma focuses on wallpaper and Sara Austin shares her expertise for creating an insta-worthy utility room. We also take a closer look at options for natural wood kitchen designs and get a closer look inside a recently installed reader’s kitchen in Dublin.
Recipes this month come from the delicious little Blasta Books series and we speak to founder Kristin Jensen about the inspiration behind these unique little Irish cook books. Marty O’Neill is taking in the taste and sights of New York City and we also get the lowdown on Derry~Londonderry from fashion designer Caoimhe Grant.
