March 2021 – Issue 307

Spring is on the way and who could have believed how the last 12 months would have played out! From an interiors point of view, the increased time we have all spent in our homes has certainly made us pay more attention to our interiors and tackle any projects, big or small, that have benefits on the overall design and how we enjoy both our inside and outside spaces.

A project many will have taken on is the home office, whether creating one from scratch or making an existing one more functional and aesthetically pleasing for everyday use, we have some pieces that might interest you this issue.

We also look at hallways and how they can be made more welcoming, even if it is only to greet those of you living in your home at the moment, and rather than tackle the whole bathroom, we’ve focused on sinks, showcasing a selection of stylish vanity units. If you’re looking for interior inspiration, RTÉ’s Home of the Year is soon to be back on our TV screens and this year Hugh Wallace is back at the helm with two new judges, award-winning interior designer Suzie Mc Adam and award-winning architect Amanda Bone. We were lucky enough to get a chat with them ahead of the series launch and this year promises 21 inspirational homes and some expert ideas and advice across the eight episodes.

In the meantime, we’ve three of our own fabulous readers’ homes to share with you this month. From the eclectic design in Mark and Debbie’s Mayo home, to the carefully considered layout of Tim and Lynn’s Holywood abode and Catherine and John’s impressive architectural design in Douglas, Cork.

Our cookery this month offers a selection of sweet and savoury pie recipes from Ireland’s leading chefs and cooks, and sticking with food we catch up with Brigitta Hedin Curtin from Burren Smokehouse to find out more about their top quality produce.
