Lavender’s Blue
Originally from just outside Belfast, Stuart Blakley has spent the last ten years curating an eclectic array of antiques and vintage pieces in his London apartment. Inspired by travel, and a keen blogger at Lavender’s Blue, Stuart’s stunningly unique home will transport you back in time.I was brought up on the outskirts of Belfast,’ says property developer, Stuart Blakley, ‘where I studied business studies and town planning before moving to Dublin. I now live and work in London, but my family still live in Northern Ireland, in County Tyrone.’
Stuart has been living in his London apartment for ten years now, but when it came to finding it he had a stringent criteria set. ‘I wanted my home to be fully self contained, with no communal access, while also having a private outdoor space suitable for a cat. I also really wanted to live in an historical building!’ he explains. ‘I searched for a central London area that would only be a half hour commute from my office in Mayfair. I wanted somewhere that had a leafy, village feel to it. I then stumbled on Northcote Road, a wonderfully atmospheric street lined with cafés, restaurants and independent shops, much like Lisburn Road in Belfast! I knew I just had to live nearby.
