As the deadline for applications for this year’s RTÉ One’s Home of the Year looms, here is a closer look at last year’s winning design.Throughout the popular seven week series, viewers were welcomed across the threshold of 21 houses as expert judges Declan O’Donnell, Hugh Wallace and Helen James debated the merits of flatpack furniture, baths in bedrooms and pink sitting rooms. Seven homes were shortlisted for the Carton House-based finale.
