The landscapes of Donegal vary from the wave beaten, wind whipped coasts, to high mountains clothed in moss and heather to the lush green pastures. The county boasts a surprisingly diverse range of gardens open to the public that showcase the region’s natural beauty and horticultural potential. They embrace their location, utilising the climatic conditions as an opportunity to grow an incredibly diverse range of plants, some quite unexpected given its northerly location. Some offer a unique blend of history and culture, while all are chock-full of botanical wonders.
