Your choice of flooring in a room should depend just as much on how the space is used as how you want it to look. High traffic areas such as hallways and entryways need durable finishes that are easy to maintain, while hygiene will be a primary concern in the kitchen and bathroom. For bedrooms and living areas you may wish to opt for plush carpets that feel soft under foot or statement rugs that can be changed up with ease. Alternatively, a simple way to create a sense of flow and unity, particularly through the ground floor, is to run the same flooring choice throughout or to create zones.
