Atlantic Dream
Clodagh and husband Pat live in this refurbished and extended stone cottage built in the 1880s in County Clare.When interior designer Clodagh Barry first saw this tiny stone cottage near Doolin, perched on the cliffs above the Atlantic Ocean looking west to America, it was lit by Tilley lamps, with a stone flagged floor and no running water or electricity. ‘It was a stunning location and a very special place, the house was off the beaten track but still with friends and neighbours nearby,’ she says. ‘It needed updating but was so charming with a lovely energy.’
