Minimal Maximalist

Home to Sarah and Liam Lennon this strikingly contemporary new build in Co. Galway was built to take full advantage of the surrounding stunning views.

Having lived abroad for several years Sarah, a yoga teacher and Liam, who works in e-commerce, decided to move back to Ireland with their three children, Jules 11, Sofia eight and Sacha five. ‘We were lucky to find a site near the beautiful sea village of Kinvara, which is the gateway to the Burren. I grew up on the peninsula so I met the local criteria to build a house here, despite this, gaining planning permission was a task in itself,’ explains Sarah. The couple are proud that they persevered with this project. ‘It wasn’t an easy road to achieve planning but we got there eventually. We moved our children from a very settled life abroad to return home and built a house during a pandemic and all the uncertainty and delays that came with that,’ she continues.
