June’s parents bought Tinode House on the Tinode estate in Blessington, Co. Wicklow in 1955 and although the house was sold in 2011, the farmyard and land remained with June, who has designed beautiful gardens and a contemporary cowshed conversion on the land.In 2011, June decided to change career from sheep farmer to gardener. ‘My mother was a gardener, and of course my brother Jimi too (Jimi Blake of Hunting Brook Gardens), so it was in the blood’, says June.
