Cherith and Sam’s Ballymena home has been updated to create a hardworking family home that is functional and stylish in equal measure.

When Cherith and Sam embarked on their self-build project 17 years ago, they were just about to get married and what they thought they needed from their family home was very different to what it is now. As Cherith explains, ‘We had purchased this site in 2005, before we married in 2006 and designed the house, which offered everything we needed at that stage, with the help of an architectural technician. We built the garage first and turned it into temporary accommodation for us to live in while we were building the house.
