Welcome
In this month’s issue, the Tullamore cover home may be familiar to those of you who avidly watched the recent series of RTÉ Home of the Year. We got to pay a visit to Martina and Aaron’s dream country home and love everything about the calming tranquil sanctuary they have created. We also get a closer look at Rebecca and Eamonn’s 1950s bungalow in Rathdrum, which they have completely renovated to make it more family friendly. Similarly in Belfast, David and Joanne have also renovated and extended to bring their detached 1930s red brick home to bring it inline with their interior preferences. And last, but not least, Sara Cosgrove has brought a Dublin apartment to life with bespoke joinery and beautiful textiles. Features this month focus on flooring, and in particular layering with rugs, and we also highlight a few practical, yet stylish storage options to help keep your home in order. There are interviews with artist and designer Caroline Duffy, upcycler Joanne Condon, who has a new book ‘Furniture Flips’, and Galway chef JP McMahon talks about his latest foodie offering, ‘An Alphabet of Aniar: Notes for a New Irish Cuisine.’Also in our living section we highlight Irish hotels to visit if you enjoy meandering in lush green gardens, Noah Lane owner of Foam café in Bundoran introduces us to his home town and Conrad McCormick gets in touch with his sense of smell for this month’s gardening.
