Welcome
This issue we catch up with eight inspirational women who have helped to influence Irish interiors over the last few years. They share their career paths and offer advice to other women looking to follow in their footsteps.Speaking of sharing advice, we take a closer look at the new book from award-winning interior designer Natasha Rocca Devine. Titled ‘The Step by Step Guide to Designing and Styling your Home’, it covers everything from the design project, interior design, staging and styling of all rooms, including outdoor spaces.
For anyone looking to start a project and update their bedroom or bathroom, we look at stylish and comfortable bed frames and offer advice on choosing the right size and design for your sleeping spaces. We also take a deep dive into bathtubs – an essential component for those wanting to create a spa-like bathroom and live well.
Our four homes take us to Co. Kildare, where Aisling Kirwan and her family have sympathetically renovated an old cottage and barn to create a charming family friendly home; in Portadown we visit a contemporary new build which reflects its tranquil countryside surroundings and in Foxford, homeowners Robbie and Jacqui have brought an old townhouse back to life. While in East Belfast, Deborah and Russell’s family home is packed full of personality and style.
In our living section we have tasty treats from local brands, including recipes for sweet bakes from online baking community Bruni Bakery. We think what they are doing is a great idea and a lovely way to bring like-minded foodies together. Marty O’Neill hits Northern Ireland’s North Coast where he samples a few Bushmills Irish Whiskeys along the way! While Aoife Kelly takes in all Paris’ 10th arrondissement has to offer visitors this spring. We also highlight some more local brands and makers in our Made in Ireland section and chat to the founders of sustainable Irish brand Copperfish.
Enjoy!
