Contemporary Christmas

Erin and Anthony have successfully designed a home that functions perfectly for them and their family and is ideal for entertaining, particularly at Christmas.

Built in 2010 this starkly modern house is home to Erin and Anthony and their two children. Situated in Tinahely, County Wicklow, it is built on a plot of land that was given to Anthony by his parents. ‘We sold our cottage, which helped us fund the project and luckily found a house to rent that was just around the corner from the site, which was brilliant as Anthony was taking on the task of project managing the build so had to be on site as much as possible.’

When it came to planning the design of the house the couple were very sure about what they wanted. ‘We knew we wanted something with plenty of light, with big windows to maximise the views. We wanted to have a strong indoor-outdoor link and to have easy access to the back garden,’ explains Erin.
