Meeting The Brief

Interior designer Alena C helped to reimagine the design and décor of this Athlone home to ensure it met its owners’ evolving needs.

The owners of this detached residence in Athlone wanted a redesign to improve the quality of living and freshen up the main living areas in the home, such as the kitchen, dining room and family room. These rooms were originally done to be practical when the children were small but now, with them all in secondary school, they were no longer fit for purpose and were starting to look a little tired. A change was needed and on recommendation they asked interior designer Alena C of AlenaCDesign to assist with the project. Alena begins, ‘The main requirement was to redesign the interior of the kitchen, dining area, and family room to appear more contemporary, cosy and inviting. They wanted to have a home they could be proud of when inviting friends round.
