In our May issue we are looking at lots of ways in which you can improve your home. We offer inspiration and advice on painting the walls and floors; get to grips with upcycling and what you can do to breathe a new lease of life into old pieces of furniture; we talk through ways of adding value to your home; ways in which extending and renovating can improve your living spaces; and last but not least, we showcase two amazing home projects that go above and beyond the norm. We also take a look at the worldwide Tiny House Movement, which has people reducing the size of their homes and making amazing smaller living spaces that are unique, more economical, but still hugely functional.

Our readers’ homes this issue take us to Maghera to visit the award-winning architect, Patrick Bradley and his home from the popular Channel 4 television series ‘Grand Designs’, which is an unusual and elaborate build made from shipping containers! Next we are off to County Carlow where John and Claudia show us their transformed stable block, complete with stunning views. In Dublin City we visit Inma’s ground floor apartment which has been renovated to make full use of the south-facing patio area and the light coming in to brighten the property.

Wilsons Yard created the stunning open-plan reader’s kitchen in this issue which is part of a larger area designed to give Yvonne and Alistair’s family more space and a layout which suits their lifestyle.

Our food pages offer five mouthwatering recipes for you to try at home from award-winning Ristorante Rinuccini in Kilkenny. These delicious Italian recipes are ideal for enjoying with family and friends.

In our Destination Abroad we are off to the Maya Riviera in Mexico, where we explore two stunning coastal resorts with lots of relaxing, shopping, eating and drinking to be done. Closer to home we head to Limerick and look at what is on offer for the whole family to enjoy.
