Setting The Mood
For those who prefer to live life on the dark side, in contrast to spring pastels, interior stylist Sara Austin has crafted a moody tablescape were the focus is on the bright pops of spring flowers, including mimosa and daffodils set against the backdrop of a dramatically dark interior setting. As Sara comments, ‘In this wonderland themed tablescape, little bird ornaments perched on candelabras and serving platters are adorned with black grapes, pears and artichoke. A Persian influence comes through with the use of vintage brass pots, metal trays and lanterns sourced from Linen & Latte. The Indian block printed table runner adds an interesting layer to the overall scheme and bright coloured sari fabric is used to trim the table cards made by Ink Drops Calligraphy. In the background oversize magnolia branches and mimosa from The Wild Butterfly are styled together in a giant earthenware pot, whilst ivy trails gently from brass wall sconces. It’s a true spring table, just bursting with life!’Read more in the May issue…
