December 2018 – Issue 282

From everyone here at Ireland’s Homes Interiors & Living magazine, we would like to wish you all a very festive welcome to our December 2018 issue, which is packed with lots of Christmas inspiration. Once again, this year has truly flown past, but we can’t help but feel excited for the festive season ahead. The Christmas issue of Ireland’s Homes Interiors & Living is always one of our favourites to put together, and we hope that it gets you into the festive spirit too. Bringing the decorations down from the loft and getting the house ready for Christmas can sometimes be a labour of love, but it is always a bit special when it is all done and dusted, and worth the time spent thoughtfully placing each piece. This issue we have lots of festive ideas for you to ponder.

To start you off, we have our regular Homestyle feature, which has a scattering of winter wonders amongst the year round accessories. In our main features we have your table settings sorted with lots of inspiration for Christmas day dining, and we also look at all styles of decoration, with options for classic and contemporary homes, for the tree and the rest of the home.

With lots of people looking to add a unique touch to their homes at Christmas, we have a few DIY’s from Supercraft Christmas which will help guide you into making your own décor for the home; a great way to get kids involved too! Of course, what would Christmas be without giving something special to those we care about, but it isn’t always easy to know what to buy; hopefully our gift guide will help you out, as we cover men, women, children and even gifts for our furry companions. No matter what though, remember that the thought always counts!

This issue our homes for Christmas are styled in different ways, but each one brings its own kind of festive cheer. In Ballymena we visit Jeny and Clarke’s beautifully unique, self build home where they have a true Scandi styled Christmas home, with creative touches throughout. In Belfast, Mike and Audrey show us their festive home that is steeped with memories collected over the years, with lots of Christmas cheer going on throughout. In Bray, Elaine has rejuvenated her pretty coastal home that has delicate touches of classic Christmas. Also in Wicklow, we have Emma and Enda’s light filled contemporary home that has been beautifully styled for the season ahead, and John and Charlotte’s unique home that has been beautifully presented with creative flair!

Continuing with our wintry theme, our destination abroad is St Petersburg, which is like stepping into a Russian novel and the perfect snow-filled break, and closer to home we take a look at some of what is going on around Ireland this Christmas. Our cookery this issue offers four festive recipes for you to try at home, from ScandiKitchen Christmas by Brontë Aurell.
